IPPA Print Competition

IPPA Print Competition judging was today.  It was my first time ever entering images into a PPA affiliate Print Comp.  I entered 4 images and got my first taste of how PPA competitions work.  It was exhilarating to see the title of my first entry appear in the “Upcoming Image” list.  Watching the judge’s scoring without being able to hear any of the discussion was absolutely nerve-racking.

Of my 4 images submitted one of those images was awarded a score of 80, making it my first ever Merit Image.  That image was one that’s dear to my heart.  I captured it one Saturday morning in downtown Denver on 17th street.  The morning we shot that image I somehow knew it was going to be something special.  Now that it has earned a merit it’s visible on the PPA Print Competition website.  Seeing my image that I’ve been so passionate about finally getting some recognition on the PPA site was so satisfying.

Professional Photographers of Colorado’s Print Comp is 2 weeks out.  Now that I’ve got my feet wet, I’m really looking forward to entering more of my images in our local competition.
